Owens' Florida Cavalry, consisting of thirty ; men, killed . forty-two Yankees, who had landed from a gunboat ;at New Smyrna, and mortally mounded two and took one prisoner xul of fifty-two that landed. They also hung a n ro boy who had pilotted the Yankees into Smyrna. The Yankees afterwards stot a tUg of truce ashore,, asking permission! to bury their dead, which request Captain Owens informed them he would" comply with, if they would ?end back seven negroes which they had stolen, They readily acceded to the terms proposed. The negroes were sent ashore and the dead Yankees duly buried. Nobody hurt on our side. The arms, JLc.f at that point are. all safe. The Yankees will not get them. 1' From Richmond.
